Hori, a racial slur for Māori which over past decades has been “reclaimed” by many just like “coconut” for our Polynesian brothers and sisters or “nigga” for our African American whānau.
This tee design conveys such messages of shifting mindsets of hori to Māori, or that hori has somewhat always been a small part of te ao Māori blurred in the middle.
